About

What is Practical Simplicity?

It's a new way to think about your stuff, your schedule, and your life. Most of us have unintentionally filled our homes with more things than we need and our calendars with more activities than we want. As a result, we've created a stressful pace to our lives that's impacting us in ways we might not even recognize.

The goal of Practical Simplicity is to help you identify what things are most important to you, what's distracting you from those important things, then create a tailored and sustainable approach to making small changes with big impacts.

Why Practical Simplicity?

Because this approach can work for anyone. The goal is not perfectly coordinated, magazine-worthy "after" pictures (unless that's sustainable for you). The goal is to identify practical methods that are helpful specifically for you. This will be based on and in line with the pace at which you want to work,  the organization that will function well for you, and your goals for how to exist in the space you already have.

We will focus on progress over perfection and give you the tools you need to keep that going even after our sessions have wrapped up - so you can continue making space for what matters.

How do you know it works long-term?

Because I am living proof! I'm Joanna, certified Organizing Expert and Founder of Practical Simplicity. In the past, I never considered myself a tidy person. I was mostly organized but my bedroom, kitchen, workspace, closets, etc wouldn't have given you that general impression. No matter how much I tidied and cleaned, I still felt anxious about the little piles of stuff that accumulated and seemed homeless - and it felt like they were never going away.

I started listening to experts on the topic and realized I was missing two really big pieces of the process: different people need different organizing systems and the most important part of organizing is decluttering.

Learning how to apply these realities to my life has made a profound impact on our family and home, and I would love the opportunity to coach you through the steps that will work for you and help you find a new peacefulness in your life.
